Nicholls Will not go to Aintree

My Will will not contest Sunday’s bonusprint.com Molyneux Novices’ Chase at Aintree and may instead head for Cheltenham next week.

Paul Nicholls looks to have an embarrassment of riches in the novice chase division and the four-year-old was undeniably impressive when a facile victor at Market Rasen last weekend on his debut over fences.

The likely destination for the ex-French gelding would be the RHT 40th Anniversary Novices’ Chase at Prestbury Park next Tuesday.

“He won nicely at Market Rasen last Sunday and jumped very well,” Nicholls told At The Races.

“He is in at Aintree on Sunday but he does not run there.

“He may go to Cheltenham next Tuesday but I am not going to be in a hurry with him and I am not going to be forced into running him again until he is ready”
