Brahminy Kite grounded
Well-regarded juvenile Brahminy Kite will not line up for tomorrow’s totesport Silver Tankard Stakes at Pontefract after being discovered to be slightly lame.
The Mark Johnston-trained colt has raced just twice to date, both in August, finishing second at Beverley first time out before scoring impressively at Sandown from the useful Destinate, after which he received rave reviews from jockey Darryll Holland.
“I spoke to the stable and he is a little bit lame behind this morning so he is not going to run,” said Joe Mercer, racing manager to owners Gainsborough Stud.
“There are two or three weeks to go in the season so maybe he could run again, but it all depends on how he recovers from this.”
