Manning celebrates Prix de l'Opera win
Ireland struck in the Prix de l'Opera Casino Barriere d'Enghien as Alexander Goldrun came with a storming late run under Kevin Manning to cut down odds-on favourite Grey Lilas close home.
The Jim Bolger-trained filly, second to Attraction in the Irish 1000 Guineas earlier in the season, was in an unpromising position on the rails at one point.
But a gap came at the right time and she flew when in the clear, although she did bump the runner-up and a stewards’ inquiry was called after the runners passed the post.
