Hannon ponders Salisbury options for Jewel
Top juvenile filly Jewel In The Sand could make a surprise appearance at Salisbury on Thursday as part of her preparations for the Cheveley Park stakes.
Richard Hannon is mindful that if the unbeaten daughter of Bluebird goes straight to Newmarket it will mean her having had a break of three months since her success in the Cherry Hinton stakes in July.
Hannon stressed that the decision on whether Jewel In the Sand runs in the Listed EBF/Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Dick Poole Stakes rests with the wishes of her owner.
“The filly worked very well this morning and I would like to get another run into her before the Cheveley Park,” he said today.
“However, no decision will be made until I have spoken to her owner, who is away at the moment."
