Dettori favourite for York title, ahead of Fallon
Frankie Dettori has been installed as the 7-4 favourite to be crowned leading jockey at York’s Ebor meeting this week, ahead of Kieren Fallon.
Ladbrokes put the Italian, whose mounts could include Sulamani in the Juddmonte International and Punctilious in Wednesday’s Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks, ahead of Fallon.
The pair are currently battling it out for the jockeys’ title but Ladbrokes believe Fallon, who could partner dual Oaks winner Ouija Board on Wednesday, will come off second best on the Knavesmire.
“As the odds suggest, going into this meeting we think Fallon will keep his jockeys’ crown for the Flat season but we do fancy Frankie to be crowned King of the Knavesmire,” said Balthazar Fabricius of Ladbrokes.
“Frankie may not win the war but he should win this particular battle.”
Dettori enjoyed a high-profile success on Crimson Palace in America last night but he now trails Fallon 119-112 in the title race.
