Rockstown Boy has won the big race of the opening day at the Galway Festival today, coming home at 9-2 in the GPT Galway Handicap.

Trained by Charles Byrnes, Rockstown Boy romped home for a victory for owners the Morning Dew Racing Club syndicate from Limerick, North Cork and Kerry.

Second was the American charge of Le Leopard, winning at 14-1. Mirpour was third with High Priestess coming home fourth.
