Fair heads for Curragh

Roger Charlton sends Trade Fair to Ireland tomorrow as the highly-regarded colt chases his first win since landing the Dubai Duty Free Cup at Newbury last September.

The four-year-old will not be alone, though, as the British are responsible for four of the nine runners in the Emirates Airline Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh.

Mick Channon runs both Naahy and Millennium Force, while Fulke Johnson Houghton saddles Tout Seul in the seven-furlong Group Three contest.

Trade Fair has raced twice this season, trailing home at York on his first outing and finding both Arakan and Desert Destiny too good in the Criterion Stakes, a race he had won 12 months earlier, last time out.

“I would like to take him there but he will only run if the ground doesn’t get soft,” said Charlton.

“He’s in good form, and it’s a nice opportunity to win a Group race again.”
