Perfect performance by Perfectperformance
Expensive Godolphin purchase Perfectperformance made a winning debut in the Herbert And Gwen Blagrave EBF Maiden Stakes at Salisbury today.
Godolphin’s half-brother to multiple Group One winner Russian Rhythm showed signs of inexperience in the seven-furlong contest.
But once the penny dropped, the 4-1 chance made headway to challenge on the outside and only needed pushing out with hands and heels by Frankie Dettori to beat Cape Greko by a neck.
Dettori was completing a 7.5-1 double having taken the opening Levy Board Handicap on Hawridge Prince, the 8-11 favourite.
