Fallon takes rest day after fall
Kieren Fallon will not be riding today after bruising his right leg in a fall at Pontefract last night.
However, the Derby and Oaks winning jockey is set to make a quick return to action at Newbury tomorrow.
He was lucky to escape serious injury when unshipped after Desert Arc jinked badly and reared up on the way to the start for the concluding Shamrock And Leprechaun Handicap at the West Yorkshire track.
Fallon was on the ground for several minutes being treated by paramedics before walking away unaided.
“He’s not riding today. He’s just bruised but we thought he’d give today a miss. He’ll be back at Newbury tomorrow,” his agent Davie Pollington said today.
“It was just one of those things, but he was lucky. It could have been worse.”
The champion jockey had treated his followers to a 42.5-1 hat-trick at Pontefract on Stoop To Conquer, Adaikali and Chorist before being brought down to earth with a bump.
Fallon, who has ridden 74 winners so far this year, had three rides booked at Salisbury today.
