Moscow Ballet tipped for French run

Moscow Ballet, one of two withdrawals from the Vodafone Derby at the final declaration stage, could run instead in the Group One Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly on Sunday.

The Ballydoyle raider faces a maximum of seven rivals, headed by Bago, last year’s champion, and Mark Johnston’s Pearl Of Love, winner of the Group One Gran Criterium at San Siro last October.

Moscow Ballet was three and a quarter lengths behind Johnston’s charge when they met in Italy while Bago, who missed the French 2000 Guineas due to a virus, is unbeaten in four starts.

John Gosden’s French 1000 Guineas fifth Nyramba was one of nine fillies left in the Group Two Prix de Sandringham, which she could use as a stepping stone to the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
