Murphy to see specialist
Timmy Murphy is to see a sports injury consultant to determine the extent of the damage suffered following his fall from Room To Room Gold at Navan on Sunday.
The jockey, who has ridden seven winners in Britain this campaign, came to grief when his mount fell at the final flight in the Kilberry Hurdle.
âTimmy isnât sure whether he has fractured or broken his collar bone, which is why he wants one of the specialists who deal with jockeys to have a look at it,â said his agent Chris Broad.
âI have spoken to him and he is wanting to go and see Dr Foy, but he is not available, so he is going to go and see another consultant.
âItâll just take a little bit of time, but as soon as he can weâll start on a bit of physiotherapy. There was talk yesterday that he would be out for three weeks, although we wonât know until we get some more advice.â
Skybet quote Murphy as the favourite to replace Tony McCoy as the stable jockey to Martin Pipe, for whom he rode a double on Saturday afternoon.
âIt is nice that Timmy has been called up to ride a few for Mr Pipe and he has managed to have a few winners,â continued Broad.
âI am sure if Timmy was offered the job that he would be very interested in it, but he is just happy riding winners for whoever.â
