Prospect Park leads Longchamp field
Prospect Park heads a field of six for the penultimate recognised French Derby trial, the Group Two Prix Hocquart, at Longchamp tomorrow.
The Sadler’s Wells colt, trained by Carlos Laffon-Parias, is likely to start favourite for the mile-and-a-half test following his victory over subsequent Group Two winner Millemix in a Listed event at the same course last month.
Trainer Andre Fabre and jockey Gary Stevens are represented by Cherry Mix, second to Voix Du Nord in the Prix Noailles at the Paris track last month.
The last Hocquart winner to go on to glory in the Prix du Jockey-Club (French Derby) was Bering in 1986.
Earlier, the Group Three Prix de Guiche, a stepping stone to the Group One Prix Jean Prat on the Jockey-Club card at Chantilly next month, could go to the Fabre-Stevens runner Advice.
