Epicentre, a former John Gosden inmate, landed his first win in stakes company in America on Friday.

The five-year-old, who was handled by Gosden in 2001 and 2002, took the Grade Three Elkhorn Stakes over a mile and a half at Keeneland.

Epicentre was first past the post in the Grade One Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes last November but was judged guilty of causing interference, disqualified and placed third after a stewards inquiry.

Epicentre, who is now trained by Bobby Frankel, was steered to a four-and-three-quarter length win by Jerry Bailey.
