House set for Bangor appearance
Amberleigh House, fresh from success in last weekend’s Martell Cognac Grand National, will make an appearance at Bangor racecourse a week from today.
The 12-year-old will be paraded during the afternoon in what will be his first public showing since his Aintree victory.
Stabled locally at Ginger McCain’s Cholmondeley base in Cheshire, Amberleigh House was given a gallop at the track just days prior to his famous win.
“Amberleigh House is a local hero, and I’m sure that plenty of people will come out and give him a great reception at a racecourse where he is a standing dish,” said Bangor chief executive Richard Thomas.
Other attractions on the charity day, which is raising money for the Clwyd Special Riding Centre near Wrexham, include the Children’s Pony Stakes and a race named after Arkle’s owner, Anne, Duchess of Westminster.
