McCoy to return to action on Wednesday
Tony McCoy is set to return to action at Ludlow on Wednesday, just nine days after breaking his cheekbone in three places in a nasty fall at Plumpton.
The champion jockey suffered the injury when he was kicked after Polar Red crashed out at the second fence in the Tyser Insurance Ltd Novices’ Chase.
As the injury did not need surgery he took a break in Dubai.
“He came back this morning and has been to see his surgeon and the specialist. They both say he's OK to ride again,” said his agent Dave Roberts.
“He’ll be back at Ludlow on Wednesday. I don’t know what he’s riding yet. It depends what Mr Pipe runs.”
McCoy has seen his lead whittled way from seven to just two (159-157) in the title race by Richard Johnson since his enforced absence.
