Folkestone falls to snow

Folkestone have abandoned their meeting this afternoon because of snow.

Officials had been hopeful of the fixture getting the go ahead but a morning inspection showed the track was still unraceable.

"It got down to minus three overnight and we have had to abandon due to snow really," said clerk of the course Chris Stickels.

"There's just too much snow still on the track, it's not melted enough and temperatures aren't rising fast enough at the moment."
