Welcome rain at Ascot

Conditions at Ascot remain on the fast side, but rain has been falling at the Berkshire course ahead of this weekend’s two-day meeting.

The participation of Champion Hurdle winner Rooster Booster in Friday’s PricewaterhouseCoopers Ascot Hurdle depends on the going.

“The advance going is good to firm, good in places on the hurdle course and good to firm on the chase course,” an Ascot spokeswoman said today.

“We are watering and it is raining at the moment. It is just drizzling, but it has been doing so for the last couple of hours.”
