Airwave is set to run in Sunday’s Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Majestic Barriere as long conditions remain dry, trainer Henry Candy said.

The filly was a fast-finishing sixth in last Saturday’s Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Diadem Stakes at Ascot after suffering some trouble in running forcing her to challenge wide under Dane O’Neill.

However, Candy was pleased with that performance and reports her to be in good order.

“She is very well,” Candy commented, “She is incredible.”

After contesting her last four starts over six furlongs, the speedster would be dropping back to the minimum distance at Longchamp.

“I have left her in, and I will declare her and just see what the weather does,” explained Candy.

“The intention is to run if it doesn’t get soft.”

When asked whether she is more at home over five or six furlongs, the Wantage-based trainer answered: “I think she is equally effective at both.”

Following a scintillating victory in the Tripleprint Temple Stakes in May, the three-year-old filly has gone on to be placed in three Group Ones, the Golden Jubilee Stakes, Darley July Cup and the Stanley Leisure Sprint Cup.
