Cox has a lot to look forward to with Lago
Largo D’Orta, second to Trade Fair in last Friday’s Dubai Duty Free Cup, has come out of the race in top form according to his trainer Clive Cox.
The three-year-old finished three lengths behind Roger Charlton’s star in the seven-furlong Newbury event, running on well towards the line without ever threatening the winner.
“He has come out of the race in great form really,” said Cox.
“It was a really positive performance and I am sure we have a lot to look forward to with him.”
The Dubai Duty Free was the colt’s first try at Listed company, and followed a win in the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Conditions Stakes at Chester.
On his Roodee run he had several useful sorts, including Laidlow and Sir Edwin Landseer, behind him.
The Lambourn handler is still mulling over options for the horse, who is the winner of five of his nine starts this season.
“We will be deciding in the next few days where we go with him,” he added.
