Banned Murtagh set to appeal

Johnny Murtagh says he will appeal a seven-day suspension that would rule him out of Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.

He was handed the ban, which runs from October 1 to 7 inclusive, for making insufficient effort on Edward Lynam's newcomer Dangle in the EMS Civil Engineering EBF Maiden at the Curragh on Sunday.
