Record strike by Hughes

Richard Hughes took his tally for the year to 106 with a near 141-1 treble at Ayr yesterday, Boogie Street’s record-breaking performance in the Christine Sadler Designer Harry Rosebery Stakes being the highlight.

His first success of the afternoon came on Brave Burt, who was only 0.18 sec outside the five-furlong course record of 57.20 set by Sir Joey in 1993, when holding on by a short head from Esatto in the Tote Bigger Winnings Handicap.
