Park target for Valleys
Exciting two-year-old Three Valleys looks set to return to the track in next month’s Shadwell Stud Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.
The Roger Charlton-trained colt broke the juvenile track record when hacking up in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
But he was then found to have mucus in his lungs following a defeat by One Cool Cat in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
The Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes had been mentioned as a possible target for his comeback, but Charlton told the Racing Post: “Unfortunately, Three Valleys will not be ready for Newbury because the problem with the mucus lingered on for some while after his run in Ireland.
“Although he has not yet returned to full work he is cantering and hopefully he’ll be back for the Middle Park next month.”
