Mick Kinane received a vote of confidence from Aidan O’Brien as the trainer refused to comment on rumours that the jockey was to be replaced as first choice at Ballydoyle by Kieren Fallon.

A report had suggested that, fuelled by their lack of recent big-race successes, relations between O’Brien and Kinane had become strained.
