Lucky escape for Kershaw
Leanne Kershaw is reported to be resting at home today after taking a crashing fall at Doncaster last night.
The apprentice rider parted company with the Jedd O’Keeffe-trained Western Applause in the "Come Racing Again Tomorrow" Fillies’ Handicap when the saddle slipped two and a half furlongs out.
Kershaw was taken to hospital for a check-up and O’Keeffe revealed she suffered no serious injury in the tumble.
“I brought her home late last night, we left Doncaster Royal Infirmary at about one o’clock this morning,” he said.
“She has a minor head injury, they took some head X-rays and they were all clear.
“She’s going to be OK in a couple of days and she’s resting now as she was told to rest for 24 hours by the doctors.”
