Murtagh hoping to return tomorrow

Johnny Murtagh is hoping to return to the saddle tomorrow after injury ruled him out of today’s proceedings at Royal Ascot by the racecourse doctor.

The leading rider at the meeting for the last two years was hit in the face by his mount Red Power and then thrown from the horse before yesterday’s Coventry Stakes.
