British runners dominated the finish of the Prix La Moskowa with Barathea Blazer getting up in the shadow the post to pip Windermere at Chantilly today.

Frankie Dettori settled Windermere down at the head of affairs setting a good gallop in the one mile, seven furlong Listed contest with Barathea Blazer racing in second.

The Italian slowed the gallop with three-quarters of a mile left to travel but coming off the home turn he kicked the John Gosden-trained Windermere into a clear lead but local ace Christophe Soumillon had the move covered on Barathea Blazer and giving Peter Harris’s four-year-old a masterful ride got his mount up on the line.

Pete Mason representing Harris, said: “We were concerned about the ground being too fast but Christophe assured us that it was perfect.

“The horse is getting fitter and fitter with each race and it is the step up in distance that has really helped.

“The Northumberland Plate is a possible next target.”
