Bradley hearing adjourned
Graham Bradley’s appeal hearing will go into a second day after proceedings drew to a close today without a conclusion being reached.
The former jockey’s appeal against the fine and eight-year suspension from racing he received at the end of last year had been originally due to start on January 14.
But the hearing was delayed when one of the two Jockey Club panel members fell ill.
Jockey Club public relations director John Maxse confirmed: “The hearing was adjourned shortly after 4pm today and will recommence tomorrow morning, when it is hoped a decision will be reached.”
Sitting on the Appeal Board, under the independent chairmanship of former High Court judge Sir Edward Cazalet – whose vote cannot be overruled – are Anthony Mildmay-White, former chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, and Fiona Whittaker.
Bradley, a former top National Hunt jockey and now a bloodstock agent, was warned off and fined £2,500 (€3,620) and £400 (€580) when found in breach of a series of the Rules of Racing, including the passing of privileged information in return for monetary consideration.
The postponement has enabled Bradley to continue with his bloodstock work and any penalty will not come into force until the conclusion of the appeal.
He is a regular face at all the major meetings and purchased Well Chief, the exciting juvenile hurdler who finished second in the JCB Triumph Hurdle and is set to be in action at Aintree this week.
