Noseda considers Adiemus plan

Adiemus could return to action at either Newmarket or Kempton next month, trainer Jeremy Noseda has revealed on his website.

The son of Green Desert was sent off 7-2 favourite for the Freephone Stanley Lincoln at Doncaster at the weekend but could only finish seventh of the 24 runners over the Town Moor mile.

Winner of last season’s Winter Derby over 10 furlongs, the five-year-old will now as expected be stepped back up in trip, with either the Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket or the Magnolia Stakes at Kempton the options under consideration.

“Unfortunately Adiemus found the mile of the Lincoln a little too sharp for him and now we will revert to either a mile and one furlong or a mile and a quarter,” Noseda said on www.jeremynoseda.co.uk.

“His next objective would either be the Earl of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket on April 16 or the Magnolia Stakes at Kempton on April 21.

“He has come out of the Lincoln well, it was just that everything was happening a little too quickly for him, so he had traffic problems.

“It’s the first time since his racecourse debut that he has been out of the first three, so I’ve no complaints and he will go on for the year – I have no doubt about that.”

Noseda also revealed that Sagitta 1000 Guineas entry Cassis could make her seasonal reappearance in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury on April 12.

“Cassis is coming along well and we have our sights firmly set on the Fred Darling at Newbury,” he said.

“After a run there, we will decide where her next target will be. I’m happy with her. She’s done well during the winter, physically.”

The Red Ransom filly won on her seasonal bow as a juvenile and was also placed in both the Cherry Hinton and the Mill Reef Stakes.
