Easterby set to retain award

Tim Easterby is set to retain the ‘Go Racing In Yorkshire’ trainers’ prize, sponsored by Skybet.

With just two days of the Flat season on turf left, the Classic winning trainer has recorded 52 winners at the county’s tracks this year, 10 more than his closest pursuer Mark Johnston.

Fergal Lynch leads the way for the jockeys’ award with 47 winners, followed by Kevin Darley, winner for the last five years, on 39.

The Waterford Crystal trophies will be presented to the respective winners during racing at Doncaster on Saturday.
