Fallon could face long ban
Kieren Fallon will make a trip to Portman Square for a Jockey Club hearing tomorrow morning to see if he faces a lengthy ban.
The Irish champion jockey was referred to the Disciplinary Committee after his ride on Golden Nun at Newmarket on August 17.
The Committee will decide whether Fallon has breached rule 153 concerning his riding in the National Stud Nursery Handicap Stakes after the local stewards found him to have caused interference to Stagnite, who in turn interfered with Malapropism and in turn with Man Eater who were all unplaced.
His case was automatically sent to Portman Square because Fallon had been suspended from riding for 16 days for interference within the previous 12 months.
Trainer John Best and jockey Ricky Lake will have their appeals against the fine and ban imposed over the running of Recount at Lingfield last week.
The Lingfield Stewards found the rider to be in breach of Rule 157 regarding the horse being given every chance to obtain the best possible placing.
And the trainer in breach of Rule 155(ii) regarding every horse running on its merits following the running of the Sponsor A Race Median Auction Maiden Stakes (Div II).
Lake was suspended for ten days, Best was fined £1600 (€2500) and Recount was suspended from running for 40 days.
