Sorcerous back in Leopardstown
Aidan O’Brien’s Sorcerous makes his long-awaited three-year-old debut at Leopardstown tomorrow evening.
The Sadler’s Wells half-brother to St James’s Palace Stakes winner Grand Lodge cost 2m guineas as a yearling but has had just one run so far in his career, beating Dermot Weld’s In Time’s Eye in a one-mile maiden at this track last October.
Sorcerous was considered a Vodafone Derby candidate at one stage and still holds entries in the Juddmonte International and Great Voltigeur Stakes at York next month.
Among the opposition to Michael Kinane’s mount as he steps up to 10 furlongs in the Treasure Island Stakes tomorrow is Weld’s Mobasher, winner of his last two starts, and the John Oxx-trained maiden winner Millstreet.
