Irish jockey risks arrest warrant
A warrant for the arrest of Irish jockey John Egan is expected to be ordered in Hong Kong.
Reports say the move will be made after he failed to return there under conditions imposed by a commission investigating corruption in the sport.
The Independent Commission Against Corruption is examining race-fixing and illegal bookmaking allegations.
Egan was among 20 people arrested in February who were allowed to leave Hong Kong on condition that they returned by June 30.
The South China Morning Post reports Egan's fellow jockey Robbie Fradd, who was among those arrested, has returned but Egan has not.
The case is still ongoing but no charges have been brought. Both men have been riding in Britain and South Africa while under precautionary suspension in Hong Kong.
The Jockey Club suspended them until June 30 to "ensure the public's confidence and to protect the integrity of racing and betting in Hong Kong".
