Godolphin take on Japanese jockey

Top Japanese jockey Yutake Take has been snapped up by Godolphin to partner their second string Atlantis Prince in the Singapore Airlines International Cup at Kranji on Saturday.

Take returned to action from injury only recently while his partner was added to the line-up only a week ago because Jim And Tonic was forced to miss the Group One contest.

Frankie Dettori will ride Godolphin’s main hope Grandera in the third leg of the World series following the four-year-old’s fifth to Eishin Preston in the second leg, the Queen Elizabeth II Cup in Hong Kong last month.

Newmarket raider Hawkeye did two steady canters on Wednesday and will have his final piece of work today.

The four-year-old, trained by Michal Jarvis after being bought out of Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle stable by owner Gary Tanaka last autumn, will be ridden in the big race by American Gary Stevens.
