Winning Line 'not ended'

Reports that one of racing’s most successful syndicate operations - The Winning Line - has been ended, have been refuted by the organisation.

Despite the sale of a number of the organisation’s horses to Favourites Racing Limited, The Winning Line will continue to buy more jumping stock according to spokesman Matthew Walton.

‘‘In conjunction with our parent company, Crown Sports plc, we decided some months ago to streamline our string but still aim to recruit further quality horses to target championship events,’’ Walton said.

‘‘We received a very fair offer from one existing shareholder in Crocadee, Favourites Racing Limited, who guarantee to provide the same level of service to existing horse shareholders.

‘‘However, this in no way signals the end of The Winning Line as top-flight owners.

‘‘The company remains as ambitious as ever and will be looking this summer to recruit further top prospects."
