Top filly is put down

Tempera was put down last night after she developed a colitis and succumbed to laminitis, it was announced today on the Godolphin website.

Godolphin’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner was sent to the Hagyard-Davidson-McGee Veterinary Clinic in Lexington with an ‘‘elevated temperature’’ on Friday.

Unfortunately her condition deteriorated rapidly on Sunday and nothing could be done to save her.
