Godolphin have confirmed that Tempera will miss the Grade One Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs on Friday.

Last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner had to miss her scheduled piece of work on Saturday morning due to a high temperature although connections were hopeful of her making the race.

But it has been announced the Saeed bin Suroor-trained filly will definitely miss the contest.

A statement on Godolphin’s website said: ‘‘Tempera had an elevated temperature on Friday afternoon and she is currently at an Equine Clinic in Lexington where her condition is being closely monitored.

‘‘Imperial Gesture will represent Godolphin in the Kentucky Oaks and Frankie Dettori will take the ride.’’
