Marble Arch can emerge as a serious threat to Istabraq in the Smurfit Champion Hurdle by winning the €178,000 Tote Gold Trophy at Newbury tomorrow.

The six-year-old, trained at nearby East Ilsley by Hughie Morrison, is currently 14-1 with William Hill to be crowned king at next month’s Cheltenham Festival.
