Racing: See More Business out of Grand National

See More Business has already been ruled out of the reckoning for the Martell Grand National in April.

The up-and-down career of the Paul Nicholls-trained 11-year-old has seen him win the Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1999 and the King George VI Chase at Kempton in 1997 and 1999, alongside a handful of disappointing efforts.

He started the season with an encouraging effort in the John Hughes Rehearsal Chase at Chepstow before suffering a fall two fences from home which left many racegoers fearing the worst.

See More Business was pulled up in last week's Coral Eurobet Welsh National, having never threatened to take a hand and will now be re-equipped with blinkers for his next outing.

Nicholls said: "He didn't do a tap at Chepstow and I don't blame him.

"He probably likes a small field these days which he can dominate and when he got behind he decided he wasn't going to bother.

"The blinkers will definitely be back on next time. He worked well without them but it was a different matter in the race.

"He just makes me smile. The morning after the race he was as fresh as paint.

"People keep saying we should retire him but why should we? He loves what he's doing at home. You only have to see him to realise that.

"He's a five-star horse and I'd love to find a little race he can win. He's won the Pillar Chase a couple of times or there is the Jim Ford at Wincanton.

"He won't even be entered for National, I can't see him enjoying that much."
