Leading National Hunt jockey Paul Carberry has called time on his distinguished career due to an ongoing issue with a leg injury.

Carberry, 42, has not ridden competitively since he fractured his left femur when he fell from Rich Coast at Listowel last September.

The jockey said yesterday: “I saw my surgeon today and he advised me to stop. My leg’s not strong enough. I feel gutted.”
