Following the cancellation of Saturday’s Maralin point-to-point in Co Down, yesterday’s Duhallow Hunt meeting at Dromahane fared little better as the fixture was abandoned after just two races.

Unfortunately, the afternoon was compromised by heavy rain and driving winds and the stewards took the decision to abandon racing after the second race due to the deteriorating weather conditions.

Rob James however will forever treasure fond memories of the occasion as the Co Wexford amateur was credited with his initial success as an owner when steering the Colin Bowe-trained newcomer Report To Base (5/4) to a comprehensive success in the opening four-year-old maiden.
