Trip and ground should suit Tuzo

Two meetings in Ireland today, and the nap goes to Tuzo, who contests the opening three-mile rated novice hurdle at Wexford.
Trip and ground should suit Tuzo

Paul Nolan’s six-year-old secured his sole success to date came when edging out the smart Robin Thyme in a bumper over two miles at this venue back in October, but hasn’t set the world alight in three runs over hurdles since.

However, he has contested some decent races, and this certainly looks his easiest task to date over timber. The step up to three miles ought to suit, as should the conditions for the gelding who is by Flemensfirth out of a Turtle Island mare.

Although not best treated by the race conditions, he is potentially progressive, and is preferred to Ice Cool.

Go Kart can take the second race at Dundalk for Patrick Prendergast. The three-year-old filly hasn’t been out of the first two in her five runs at this track, and posted another cracking effort when runner-up behind Kasbah on her handicap debut here last month. This looks a marginally easier assignment and, despite conceding experience, she can make all at the expense of Geological.

Eddystone Rock can take the one-mile maiden for Johnny Murtagh and jockey Connor King. The four-year-old was a useful sort when trained in France, and made a satisfactory start for new connections when seventh behind Hat Alnasar here in February.
