Boy set for Cesarewitch
Pat Fahy’s smart dual-purpose performer was clear second best behind Dermot Weld’s subsequent Listed scorer Silwana in a valuable handicap recently.
The Irish Cesarewitch is a possible next port of call for the six-year-old, who had won a two-mile handicap at the Curragh on his previous start.
“The ground was maybe a bit drier at Leopardstown and it was a tighter track, but he ran very well and I was extremely pleased with him,” Fahy said.
“I was delighted to see the winner (Silwana) come out and win a Listed race next time. It was real good form.
“It’s just lovely Western Boy has proved himself a real good horse like we thought he was.
“It depends now what’s coming up. The Cesarewitch is there and he will probably go there, but we’ll see how he is.”
