Lake frozen out by Frost

The well-touted Father Frost swooped late to deny Frozen Lake in the Ticket Sales Online @corkracecourse.ie Maiden in Cork last night, completing a double for Aidan and Joseph O’Brien.

The hooded Rip Van Winkle colt, drawn on the outside of the 13 runners for his debut, was soon close up and, driven by Joseph, quickened well to lead close home and triumph by a neck.

Well-backed during the day before easing to 7/4 at the off, the €300,000 purchase looks an exciting prospect.
