The three-year-old was soon in control of matters up front after passing the fast-breaking Winters Moon during the early stages of the mile-and-a-quarter contest.
When asked the question by Frankie Dettori, the 4-1 shot responded positively to eventually cross the line three and a half lengths to the good of runner-up Ooty Hill and provide trainer John Gosden with the first leg of a high-quality double.
The Newmarket handler said: “We were forced into running her in this race (against the colts), but we have run fillies in it before. She is a nice filly, that is bold and strong and who has done well through the winter. She has got a great stride on her.
“She gave Frankie a great feel. The second is a very good horse, who was just a bit fresh. Chester and Lingfield will probably come too quick, so we will probably come back here for the Oaks trial then hopefully on to the Oaks.”
A trip to Royal Ascot is under consideration for Yasmeen after she completed Gosden’s double with an impressive debut victory in the Colin Valley Stud Bridget Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.
Ridden prominently, the Sea The Stars filly readily moved past early leader Little Prairie entering the final furlong off the seven-furlong event, before drawing two-lengths clear come the line in the manner of an above-average performer.
Gosden said of the 7-2 winner: “This filly has done it nicely and she has just come right for it. She was very alert, which is unusual for one of mine. We will just see where we go from here, but we will give her an entry in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.”
Robot Boy smashed the course record by more than a second as he blasted his way to victory in the Dubai Duty Free Handicap Stakes.
Building on his comeback run at Musselburgh two weeks ago, the David Barron trained five-year-old demonstrated his useful turn of foot when staying on strongly from just off the pace to land the five-furlong event, lowering the track record of 59.24 seconds after clocking 58.44s and is likely to stay handicapping.
