Melodic on song for chasing bow
The Grade One winner tackles the bigger obstacles in public for the first time in the CES Novices’ Chase after finishing third behind The New One in the Betfair Price Rush Hurdle at Haydock on his seasonal return last month.
“We’ve got to start somewhere and it’s as good a place to start as anywhere. We are looking forward to it, as he certainly has the potential to be a top class chaser” said trainer Jeremy Scott.
“We’ve been really pleased with his schooling at home but now he has to do it on the race track.”
Opposing the talented eight-year-old, who is likely to start at long odds-on, are Dr Richard Newland’s Boondooma, the Rebecca Curtis-trained Monkey Kingdom and Mrs Burbidge from Neil Mulholland’s stable.
