Plus Ca Change looks good for openers

The once-raced Plus Ca Change can land the opening Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden at Dundalk tonight.

Ger Lyons’ charge made a promising start at Leopardstown two months ago and has since been afforded plenty of time to mature.

At Leopardstown, she finished fifth, beaten seven lengths, behind Kevin Prendergast’s Tamadhor, in a contest that has worked out reasonably well.

Both Tamadhor and the second then, Stellar Glow, have performed solidly in defeat in the meantime, while the third at Leopardstown, Bocca Baciata, went on to score impressively at Navan.

There are a couple of interesting newcomers in the contest, but the main danger is probably Michael Halford’s Maira, hampered late on when second to stable companion Orcia on this track last month.

Jessica Harrington’s Lake Champlain is the choice in the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Maiden for colts and geldings.

He was ultimately outclassed, but not disgraced, when fourth behind Dermot Weld’s Zawraq and Aidan O’Brien’s Sir Isaac Newton at Leopardstown.

The selection was beaten over ten lengths, but is almost certainly taking a major drop in class, with Zawraq and Sir Isaac Newton both possibly harbouring classic pretensions for next season.

Tommy Stack’s Sirikoi, clearly no flying machine, can take the very moderate seven furlongs www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden.

The grey daughter of Myboycharlie seemed to find six furlongs too short when a disappointing third to Adeste Fideles at Dundalk.

Prior to that, over this evening’s trip, Sirikoi seemed much happier when chasing home Dermot Weld’s hot pot Katimavik at Fairyhouse.
