Euphrasia still in Ascot frame

Trainer John Murphy felt conditions in Paris were not demanding enough for the soft-ground-loving mare, who beat just three horses home in the Prix de Royallieu.
The five-year-old had previously boasted good form at the top table, most significantly when third in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh, and might still end up back in Group One company for the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes on October 18.
Murphy said: “The ground was probably not right for her in France. It was safe enough for her to run, but she would maybe have preferred softer ground.
“She’s 100 per cent after the race and is in the Group One at Ascot, but whether she runs will be ground related.
“She’s a big, strong girl who takes her racing well. I think we’d see a different horse if the ground is right for her.”
Meanwhile Miss France, winner of this season’s Qipco 1000 Guineas in May, will stay in training next season.
Andre Fabre’s high-class filly turned in another fine effort back at Newmarket on Saturday when she finished just a length behind the more experienced Integral in the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes.
The three-year-old daughter of Dansili will now remain in competitive action for the 2015 campaign, but connections have not yet ruled out heading to America for the Breeders’ Cup in November.
