Great Dancer has plenty going for him
He made a promising debut at Roscommon nine days ago and certainly has plenty going for him now.
At Roscommon, Great Dancer was slowly away and then it seemed to take him a long time to realise what was required.
But the selection stayed on strongly in the straight to be beaten a length and a quarter and a head into third behind the hot pot, Ger Lyons’ Belle Et Bete, and David Wachman’s newcomer, Spiritual Man.
Great Dancer will surely come on a bundle for that much needed experience and has the best of the draw in two. The possibility of soft ground is an obvious concern, but it is well to note that his sire, Lord Shanakill, appeared to handle such a surface reasonably well.
Willie Mullins’ Lucky Bridle has between 9lbs and 16lbs in hand of his four rivals in the CKS Tickets Race and should be an automatic choice.
His rating, however, is based on French form and he hasn’t exactly set the world alight in this country, either on the flat or over flights.
Perhaps, Marchese Marconi, who is 13lbs wrong, might be capable of outstaying Lucky Bridle.
