The daughter of Sir Percy is the only female in the six-runner field but goes for Group Three honours over an extended six furlongs on the back of a highly-creditable third place in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Trainer Ken Condon is happy for her to take her chance and has booked Pat Smullen as Shane Foley, who has partnered Newsletter in all her three races so far, is required for the Michael Halford-trained Toscanini.

“We were delighted with her run at Royal Ascot. She’s come out of the race and has improved again since,” said the County Kildare handler.

“She is training very nicely, she’s growing away and she looks particularly well now.

“Her pedigree suggests the trip should be no problem. She’s getting more relaxed in her work. If there’s a good even gallop we’d be happy with that.

“Pat (Smullen) will be able to get her out and take his time to get her relaxed. The ground is on the quick side which she likes, so we’re looking forward to it.

“We’re taking on the colts but Fire Lily won it a couple of years ago, so we’re not worried on that score. We were thinking of the Princess Margaret (at Ascot next weekend) but that would mean her being away for three or four days.

“This is on our doorstep. We were forecast to get a lot of rain on Thursday night but it didn’t materialise. It looks like it’s going to be fine for her. She’s in great shape and we thought we’d support our home race.”

Toscanini, owned by Godolphin, also ran well at the Royal meeting, finishing second in the Chesham.
