Lynam targets Aussie Power-play

Eddie Lynam is keen to give Slade Power the chance to stamp himself the world’s best sprinter in Australia later this year after he continued his fantastic summer with a brilliant display in the Darley July Cup at Newmarket on Saturday.

Lynam targets Aussie Power-play

The five-year-old has had to live in the shadow of his multiple Group One-winning stable companion Sole Power for the past couple of years, but has come of age this season to become the dominant force in the six-furlong division.

The two were due to go head-to-head on the July course, but with fellow Royal Ascot winner Sole Power a late withdrawal on account of the ground, Slade Power was the heavily-supported 7-4 favourite to secure his second top-level triumph following his Diamond Jubilee victory in Berkshire last month.
